I also am very happy with my wall ledges that hold books (facing front-out so they are attractive to little pre-readers), toys, and pictures. I got mine at homedecorators.com but there are also some at the Container Store, or Room and Board (not so cheap, but check out the photo as an example of how to use them in a kid's room):

http://www.roomandboard.com/rnb/product/detail.do?productGroup=19604&catalog=room&category=rm_accessories&subcategory=acc_frame_ledge

Also, I am a fan of the Yuko Lau animal prints, which you can get at art.com or sometimes at Target, and alphabet or numbers posters, which there are a TON of on etsy.com ( http://www.etsy.com/search_results.php?search_type=handmade&search_query=alphabet+poster+nursery ), and flashcards, which look really cute if you have a lot of wall space (or strung along the ceiling) - here is a post that collects some good ones: http://www.ohdeedoh.com/ohdeedoh/good-questions/attractive-abc-flashcards-good-questions-108111

Good luck!Lanehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15845265647900899258noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2127746184518651518.post-3863392561814339572010-02-15T20:53:06.849-07:002010-02-15T20:53:06.849-07:00We have lived in our house for nearly 3 years and ...We have lived in our house for nearly 3 years and my kids' rooms are still being 'finished' - it is an evolving process! My favorite part in each of their rooms are the shelves we hung on the wall (Cooper's came from Bed, Bath, and Beyond and the girls' came from Michael's and were painted white) that hold the most special of their keepsakes, as well as the letters to their names.

(And I don't remember exactly where you live, but I read the other day that the Michael's at Yale and Colorado Blvd. is moving, but doesn't want to transfer their stock - they are selling everything at 50% off! They also carry the vinyl peel-offs that the previous commenters mentioned.)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2127746184518651518.post-65794580662413139712010-02-15T09:12:40.047-07:002010-02-15T09:12:40.047-07:00Thanks for the compliment! It's not up yet, but we're waiting for a baby to be in there.

I like the thought of apple green...it sounds fresh and welcoming. I like the looks of the valence with the polka dots and I notice they're on the rug as well. Maybe you could do something as simple as going with a polka dot theme on the wall (not all over). Wall stickers could be perfect for something like that;)Ehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11994892007485220299noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2127746184518651518.post-69976373296965500692010-02-14T10:46:12.652-07:002010-02-14T10:46:12.652-07:00Jen,

The cool thing is that you can change themes and not have to pullout a can of paint :-)Tom/Lorrainehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01740432859824175999noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2127746184518651518.post-37225068392137732602010-02-14T09:35:57.411-07:002010-02-14T09:35:57.411-07:00I found great wall stickers at BRU that matched ou...I found great wall stickers at BRU that matched our theme.
